A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

When I'm not creating art I teach others to really LOOK at their world and express their inner thoughts on paper, canvas or found sculptural materials. My thousands of former students still find joy in that expression.

2. Why do you make art?

Why create art? It's my life's blood allowing me to breathe oxygen to live and continue to express myself.

3. What inspires you?

Inspiration? I look at this wonderful world, select my images with freedom of expression using color, textures and courage. It's my language.

4. What/who are your influences?

Influence? I take time to examine other area artist's expressions, their techniques while understanding their conversations to me. El Greco was my visual mentor at the Detroit Institute of Arts when I studied there. His works spoke volumes.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

I'd like to meet Salvador Dali and enjoy more of his insight of our world. I regret that I did not write to him when he was alive.
