A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

I am and have been a full-time artist for 25 years after quitting my college teaching job of many years.

2. Why do you make art?

Painting is the one human activity that I find rewarding enough to make life worth living.

3. What inspires you?

I am inspired by other people that have a passion in life and work at it commensurate with that passion.

4. What/who are your influences?

Individual artist influences are too numerous to list, however having been to Japan I am very influenced by their prints and ceramics, additionally influenced by the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

Have not given this any thought but Joseph Campbell comes to mind right now.
