Welcome to AllArtWorks Featured Artist Series!

1. What other profession is similar to being an artist and why?

An actress is similar to being an artist. An actress must continue to break boundaries just like an artist would. The focus that an actress must have is very similar to what an artist must have. This ranges from studying scripts to prepare for an audition to marketing ones self in the entertainment industry. I would say that an artist must do the same and study artwork in order to market their artwork in the art industry.

2. What’s the nicest thing you can remember someone said about your work, or an individual piece?

The nicest thing someone has said would be that my artwork has a unique style.

3. What’s one thing you’d like everyone to know about you as an artist?

I would like everyone to know that my relationship with my art has grown and I am so proud to be an artist. I have had a calling to be an artist all my life and even at one point struggled to accept the calling of being an artist. However, I have found renewed love in being an artist and my artwork has shaped me into who I am today. I love to create art and I feel inspired to challenge myself to grow even more in my artwork!
4. What was the last piece of art that you saw that blew you away?

A piece called "Backlighted" by Vania Comoretti. I think her work is amazing and I am always inspired when I see her art.

5. What’s something you haven’t done but you want to do in art/painting?

I have not created abstract artwork. I would love to paint a piece that is dynamic and that challenges my art style.

6. Which artist do you like better - Ingres or Delacroix, and why?*

I definitely love Delacroix's work. His artwork has so much emotion and movement. I love how he makes use of his colors and uses a darker color palette in addition to his use of texture in his paintings.

*The reason we ask about Delacroix and Ingres is because they were contemporaries with wildly different styles!
