A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

If I’m not in my full time studio practice, I’m in nature with my wife and French Bulldog Jake.

2. Why do you make art?

I believe making art is what I was made to do on this earth.

3. What inspires you?

Subjects that inspire me change all of the time but there are a few constant themes. Nature is a huge inspiration because it also is evolving. Even though it is cyclical, it has adapted to climate change and the damage we cause. Which brings me to my attraction to damaged people and the imperfections of portraiture and figure. Science and mysticism is a beautiful combination that brings all of these subject matters together for me.

4. What/who are your influences?

The artist that is the most influential to me is my father, he’s both genius at science and art.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

I would like to ask Hilma af Klint about the influence of The Five and their direct contact with their spirit guides to collaborate with her for her posthumous collection.
