A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST
1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).
I’m the Executive/Administration Assistant to a 13-billion-dollar Investment Company’s Legal & Compliance Dept. I’m also a published poet, and published novelist in the genre of Science Fiction.
2. Why do you make art?
Art isn’t made; it’s created. It’s already in the paint, canvas, and brushes. All I need to do is put them together—my way. Art is in the air, water, and also in my blood and bones. Art is created by those fixated with possibilities.
3. What inspires you?
To make art? All kinds of things. Music, a calm breeze on a warm, sunny day, the sound of raindrops hitting a windowpane, or even a sublime face. A nostalgic time or place...
4. What/who are your influences?
I have been influenced by several artists; Leonardo Da Vinci, Edouard Manet, Claude Monet, Paul Cezanne, J.M.W. Turner and Thomas Cole, to name a few.
5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?
I would love to meet Josephine Baker. Dancer, singer, she was beautiful and one of the most popular, highest paid entertainers of her time. She was controversial, married several times and she earned military honors for her efforts in the French resistance. She also adopted 12 children of different ethnic backgrounds and later in life, she demonstrated against segregation.
